I hear that! When my wife left, she said that she would miss me, but she wouldn't miss the whistles... Of course, she just IM'd me a little while ago and asked me to send her one... I had never touched a whistle before January of this year. Withing a few days I had worked up Hector the H...

Thanks for the compliments on the whistles and on my playing! :D The whistles are part CPVC and part PVC and part Delrin plastic. I'm still debating over the stickers myself... one minute I like them, the next I don't... :-? I've just agreed to build a whistle for a member who emailed me so I'll do ...

My wife asked for one for her birthday in January so I got her a Walton's D and fell in love with the thing. She didn't really get into it, but I was almost instantly obsessed with the thing. After studying it for awhile, I thought that it wouldn't be so difficult to build a better one... man was I ...

Hey guys, I haven't been on here in quite a while. My wife is in the army and recently found out that she would be traveling to Egypt for the next year or so. I found it necessary to spend more time with family for awhile there instead of building whistles and chatting on the board. Anyhoo, I've mad...

In building my whistles, I think the hardest part is in the final voicing of the whistle. Usually the tubes aren't very difficult (I'm not working with wood... yet... maybe oneday when I'm feeling VERY daring...) The hole spacing and diameters are critical, but by either underboring them or boring t...

I have one of his O'Freeman Improved Feadogs that he sent me in trade for building him a Groovewhistle (almost done Jerry!) and I must say that I am super impressed with it. The tone is head and shoulders above my Waltons and the breath requirements are significantly lower as well. Jerry's tweaks ar...

You will eventually not need the fingering chart at all. I've been playing since early January and I don't use it at all now. You will learn where the notes are as you become more familiar with the instrument. I would think that the way you hold the instrument is a matter of personal preference. The...

Thanks for the compliments everyone! To be honest it was meant as a joke to my friend who was expecting some blazing lead on my seven string... But then after hearing the whistle with it, I kinda liked it. Go figure! Yes, it's based on the E minor pentatonic scale. I never woulda guessed...

A friend of mine, that I used to play in a rock band with, is always recording things and sending them to me so that I can play lead guitar parts over them. It's all in fun to begin with so this time around I played a little bit with his mind... MLRS It's about as far from ITM as you're gonna ...
