Re: Not much love for the Shaw high D?

Well, I got my whistle! I trust that the store owner did as he said he would, which was very kind of him. If you like the more traditional whistles, you love the look of the shaw. It does look good. It has been well polished and the seam along the back has been soldered very neatly (it's still very ...

Re: Lofgren Whistles

Ooops. I only just found this thread (that'll teach me to use the search function properly...).

I just contacted Marc to find out the prices of his whistles, which he has already answered

They look like really nice instruments, I'd be really interested in hearing a few more sound samples.

Re: CP BigWhistle.co.uk has Freeman Whistles ...

I noticed, great news. If only I had known before ordering my Shaw I would've gotten one of your Gen Ds too. It'll give me another excuse to buy again though, haha. Incidentally, are you planning on tweaking any more Shaws (a high D to be precise...) to perhaps send to BigWhistle? I'm quite interest...

Re: Silly Putty vs. Poster Tack: There is a difference.

Although I haven't been playing long, I decided to give the poster putty (we call it Blu-tac in the UK) a try on my Feadog. It took away a bit of the airyness and made it a little bit clearer but the range was still the same. Having said that, I think I got very lucky with my Feadog as the second oc...

Re: Not much love for the Shaw high D?

Thanks for all the replies folks! Really appreciate it. I'm really looking forward to getting it. I asked the owner of the shop if he wouldn't mind trying a couple out for me and posting the best one he can find, so hopefully my odds are increased at getting a good one. Sounds like the main issues a...

Not much love for the Shaw high D?

Hello there, this is my first post on this forum. I've been playing the whistle for not very long at all, but wanted to try something a bit different from the Feadog I had been practicing with. I have asked for a more expensive whistle for my Christmas present but decided to order a Shaw high D in t...
