once, in a reedmaking workshop Alain Froment played the chanter like an oboe to check the reed tuning with an electronic tuner.
Of course that was perfectly in tune...

I would like to add that, confirming Mr. O'hare's good intentions, he informed me that he will send a new chanter as a gesture of goodwill to conclude in the best way these unfortunate circumstances.

Actually I'm not sure but I think he is... Last march in Rome, Tiarnán Ó Duinnchin gave me his contacts being asked who made his chanter and if it would have been possible to order one from Mr Curran.

Anyway he surely made some set in the past, any pictures of them?? :-?

3rd octave

I heard that with a special cross fingering, a great reed and a bit of tecnique you can reach the 3rd octave up to G3. Is that true? Does anyone know anything about that?
Maybe G. Woff wrote an article about it time ago...
