Tuning a Button Box

Hello All,

I have a Hohner Morgane and one note's tuning is driving me nuts. Is there any way to tune this one note myself, or do I need to get it to someone who knows what they are doing? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Re: David O'Brien-Barefield Flutes

While visiting Ireland in March, I had the opportunity to visit David’s shop. I ended up ordering a keyless flute which I am expecting in late May. His flutes are very well made and easy to play. It took me a while to get use to the Pratten style, but once I did, I found his flutes very nice soundin...

Re: Willie Week!!!

Went to the Willie Clancy festival last year. I also stayed in Doolin. Loved the pubs! McGanns was was favorite. Do have a pint or two for me and make sure you drive on the left after those few pints.

Re: Dixon vs. Copley

Hey Pat.

I think I met you last summer at the Timber Flute thing with Grey. I was there for a few days. How do you like your new flute?

Dixon vs. Copley

Can anyone compare a Dixon polymer vs. a Copley delrin? I have a Dixon and am just beginning to become satisfied with my sound. Would a Copley be an upgrade or should I save more cash for a wooden flute of some sort?

Thanks in advance!

What is the best way to get an Overton, directly through the makers, or through a store?

This morning I was giving an 8th student a flute lesson when she noticed a few whistles on my desk. She asked what they were and why I had so many. I explained that they are all a bit different, having different keys and tone, etc. She seemed very interested, being a flute player and all, so I gave ...

I really like the sound of my Feadog, but I can't get a clear sound above the second octave G. The note just does not want to come out. The lower octave has a pretty good sound, though. Maybe I will try another one.

If you order just the body, does that also take about 8 months?

Wow! I didn't know that. I give that I try. The only other Bb that I have is a Generation. It's not bad but I'm sure the Sindt will great.

Thanks

Just received my "A" Sindt whistle yesterday.
Wow! This is a very nice musical instrument. It has great tone through both octaves and really has superb intonation. I think this whistle will become my favorite rather quickly.
