jerry freeman?
Is Jerry still around? I sent a banker's cheque for one of his whistles early January. It wasn't cashed, no whistle came, so the cheque was cancelled by the bank. No reply to my latest email!! Strange for him not to reply to emails as promptly as he usually does ...

Cronnollys of MandE? Still in business?
Has anyone got any news of the Cronnollys of M and E flutes? They don't seem to have a functioning webpage any more. I'm interested in their 'new' RandR D five piece flute and what's so new about it ...

Re: Feedback on Shannon's tuning (flute made by WD Sweet Flutes)
The tuning's fine. Hole sizes are good for me. I particularly like no cork and the pull-through cleaning this facilitates as well as the short foot without those two useless hole appendices ... being able to keep the flute connected all the time without any effect on the sleek delrin body is a real ...

Re: Sealing the holes
Wet fingers make my flutes slippery!
Big or small holes don't seem to make any difference.
Fortunately the problem doesn't arise often anyway.
Best,
Keith.

Re: WTB - keyless delrin flute
Shannon! However satisfying your playing gets on this thought-loaded, skilfully made, good looking, delrin flute you'll get better and better the more you play it. Embouchure, embouchure, embouchure!

M&E Rudall & Rose 5047
Terry McGee wondered what RnR provenance I could give for MnE in a thread we were following, (the name of which I've forgoten). I couldn't find my note from one of the original web sites Mike Cronnolly had at that time, but have it now: Its the registration number 5047 of a flute in a Glasgow museum...

Re: Coda CDC whistle?
Isn't there a brass whistle that telescopes into itself and pops into a top pocket of a jacket (or has it gone the way of the 'jacket') ?

Re: Coda CDC whistle?
I've heard some nice samples on it but its tone, and because it doesn't seem an easy 'pick up and play' instrument compared to the whistle, people might be put off buying it despite it being fully chromatic and delivers sharps and flats ...

Re: Coda CDC whistle?
Well! I never guessed it was a modern ocarina. Pity about the distinctive ocarina sound and fingering compllcations.
