Here's something I did a while back, maybe while having some discussion with Jem (about something or the other... don't recall. I also don't recall which flute this is). Probably the Firth, Pond & Co. w? Abell hj.

I just realized that there's a full version of the second 'flutey' track from the Craicdown record available for preview at Reverbnation. Here's a link:

Casey Comes Back / Gretchen's Wedding

The first tune was composed in honor of Mike Casey, a mighty flute player in the East Galway style whose music is sorely missed in these parts (he's fine, just living elsewhere!). The second was composed in honor of fiddles Gretchen Koehler, who likewise spoiled us for awhile then flew the coop. Love and respect to the both of them.

Rogha An Ghabha, or the Blacksmith's Fancy. Nice setting you're playing there, much better than mine.

Hi Rama

I listened to your earlier (Pratten's F) clips and it's amazing how similar the voice of these flutes sound,

Eb Grinter

Played and accompanied by yours truly. Nothing too special playing-wise, but I'm pleased how the warmth and the edge of the flute come through. Oh yes, and I realize that I'm skipping a beat at the end, but it's too late to change that. Comments welcome.

HI guys!

Recorded some stuff with my headset today:

Flute is a Seery delrin (small-hands)
http://www.box.net/shared/o7hpg6aatu
Reels are Rainy Day and Baltic Rocks (got it from TMcE's great album...)

Did fairly well on the first reel, I think, but messed it up a little on the last, Baltic Rocks.

I mailed 19 year old, Alessandro de Carolis, in Caserta, Italy one of my low D pvc flutes with the lip plate and oval embouchure. He just sent me a video of him playing Breton Tune with his friend, Carmine Scialia playing the octave violin. Once I figured out how to play a zipped file with a .RAR file extension (needed new software) on my old XP computer, I put the video up on my youtube channel.
