various concert D chanter reeds: http://www.ebay.com/itm/300935068015?ss ... 1555.l2649

To see the rest of the items, please click on the "see other items" tab in the upper right corner of a listing.

Thanks.

Wow!! An auction for 2 made-in-Pakistan chanters is already up to $450. OK, it includes a Dixon bag, but still ... :boggle:

How can you see it's a pakistani chanter? the chanter looks very nice at first sight but perhaps you can tell me how to detect 'flaws'.

Hi DjUntzUntz

Take a look at the \Geoffrey website and compare the chanters in the ebay ad with them.

As to the chanter playing in C# (it will be the one with the wooden top). That is perfectly possible, I bought a Geoffry full set many moons ago ( ) and gave it to Jim Daily to play around with - he had the chanter, drones and one regulator working in C# - he reckoned that it suited C# better than D.

Well, for starters, I have a PhD in Pakistani-made uilleann pipes.

Besides, here's an auction featuring a chanter which is eerily similar to the "D" chanter. Check the Item Location: Sialkot, Punjab, Pakistan.

And here's an auction for a chanter which is similar to the "C#" chanter. Note the brand "Hakam Din". And here's the rest of the "C#" chanter. Note the brand "Mid East". Although, in fairness, they might be referring to Wicklow.

No one picked up on my Vignoles Bellows. Works great... about 4 years old but only used the last year. Used Daily for the last year. Selling it and other stuff to help pay for the Angus full set.

I was watching those in particular because they hadn't popped up here (less competition), and I need a set of bellows. :moreevil: It's all good though. :)
