I had no idea. I suppose now I'll have to have a look into what the Big Day is supposed to be all about. I've always said (and I think this illustrates it) that I have no sense of occasion. After four automated courtesy calls yesterday to remind me of the day and delivery time window, I have every reason to believe that apparently the same is true of Best Buy. We oafs (oaves?) will no doubt get along just swimmingly together.

Oh, I see: it'll be Columbus Day. It's not the sort of observance people usually get time off for where I live, any more than they would get time off for International Accordion Day. And, to be brutally honest, I think that's just as it rightly should be, and we can leave it at that.
If the unit fails to come Monday it will be because of a glitch, not because of some observation-optional holiday that is belatedly coming to be seen for the embarrassment it is.
