After all that build up, the Kesh Jig was a bit of an anti-climax. I was expecting him to pour lighter fluid on his pipes, set them alight and then play Colonel Fraser with his teeth ...

Re: THE GREAT UILLEANN YOU-TUBE THREAD.
Hey that Eric Rigler bit was something else. Must be the first time I heard the pipes through a wah wah pedal. Pity about the kesh jig-it did seem a little like a let down and the crowd were pretty lousy. I guess its not the first time the wah wah has been used by a different instrument seeing as it had been developed for the trumpet primarily.
I never considered him a great piper by any means but I found this an interesting video, and he is surely the most 'famous' piper (at least his soundtrack work)

Yes, PJ, you've been holding out on us. Tell Alain he is playing quite well!

Alain has a lovely swing to his piping. I find that it's impossible to listen to his playing and not tap time with my foot.

I liked the Terror Time (the air at the beginning) but not the out of tune djembe, the percussionist should have tuned it to the £$%^& pipes.

Nice playing. Is that the Hubbert set?
