Not sure if this has been posted before. My apologies if it has, just couldn't find the time to run through 11 pages of threads to find out! Here's a clip of Pat Tierney playing three reels, ending with John in the Fog. Believe he's playing a Susato. Great stuff.

I just made a video for a friend and stuck it on youtube so she could see it.
Its nothing brilliant but it might be of interest to someone, it was to show her how to do a longer glissando.

I am really enjoying reading through all the old threads on here.
I am actually amazed that so many people play the whistle.
I have been playing on and off for over 30 years and it used to be the sort of thing you didn't mention in polite company.

I was worried that might be the case.

When I started playing again my wife bought me a woolly jumper.
It might be coincidence, but she also says I should grow a beard.

Allright, I lost a bet last year, while drunk, after telling a friend of mine how I would never post anything on Youtube (unless for "business reason" like selling an instrument). So I was due payment, here's the clips, two reels recorded on my Eb whistle :-)

Thanks! Well, I'm lazy, and you guys are forcing me to do some research grrrrr ;-) I just checked Tunedb and it seems the first tune is a reel called "Johnny Cronin's Fancy". The second tune is one of my favorite, it's called Corner House and is based on the march called "The Battle of Aughrim". I learned it a while ago from whistle/flute player Mike McHale who won all Ireland around '67 I think but now lives in upstate New York. He had a brother, Tom McHale I think, who also won all Ireland on whistle but died in a car accident years ago. Mike is one of my whistle hero, he's good friend with Mary Bergin and they play very well together.

Hey, nice playing, Az, I enjoyed that! You survived your video debut. :-)

You're also braver than me ...

Funny, I never made the connection between Corner House and Battle of Aughrim. Very cool, thanks for that.

I'm not sure if anyone's posted china496694218's link yet (this is a really long thread! i've made it to pg 4 so far! lol)
anyway, his whistle and flute work are both rather good. i like this one a lot:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVbpfc2LccU

his low whistling is lovely as well:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXRuEwjalo8

and his flute version of the Braveheart theme impresses the socks off of me!
:)

(it's also fun to see that he seems to have a full-blown case of WhOA :D )
