So not necessarily linked to global warming then.

No idea. I suppose it depends on how unprecedented it is.
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

Possibly. The strength and frequency of El Nino/La Nina events is reportedly increasing.

Yes, not good. If only they'd try ten times harder though - they might even get up there with those pesky bankers.

Someone gets rich off every trading scheme.

That's an argument against trading, not against limiting carbon emissions.

Receiving outrageous surplus CO2 permits through politics has nothing to do with an honest trade.

Nor with restricting carbon emissions.

However, it's the anti-GCC lobby they fund that gave them the political room to demand this. Do you feel like a sucker, yet?

We should be so lucky.

Met Office says 2010 'among hottest on record'
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11841368

This year is heading to be the hottest or second hottest on record, according to the Met Office.

It says the past 12 months are the warmest recorded by Nasa, and are second in the UK data set, HadCRUT3.

The Met Office says it is very confident that man-made global warming is forcing up temperatures.
