Hi Gandrid,
Nice looking flute! Does it play as nice as it looks?

Tell us something.: in two words, Rudall & Rose. but since a minimum of 100 characters is required, I should list a number of makers I found extremely interesting… I don't even know how much are 100 characters...

I think that you spend too much time taking care of those old instruments.

..as I am a generous person I'll take care of any of them you choose to handle me. Don't worry, I won't charge you anything for bearing such a heavy load...

That Hammy is nice! How old is it? It looks like you opted for thread instead of cork, and those joints look like sterling silver. I've never seen an 8 key Hamilton :o

I'm not a scornful person. But just think how many things you could do if you get rid of one (even the two of them)...you could have a hobby, own a dog, trainspotting, watch TV a lot more...

Tell us something.: Just updating my profile after 16+ years of C&F membership. Sold most of my flutes, play the ones I still own and occasionally still enjoy coming here and read about flute related subjects.

Just realised I never added pictures of my Aebi flute here. They are in a separate thread, which first got hi-jacked (not naming names :-)) and now is buried in the mountains of flute wisdom that is the C&F archive:

I can see your reflection in the key cup! ;)

I think I never posted my glorious keyless plumwood/artificial ivory flute here. So here it is...

Made by me. And yes, it's not perfectly straight. Handy for playing around corners, as Terry said. ;)

Photos of my new Reviol eight-keyed to follow shortly, I hope...

Here is one of my latest ebay flutes. It made by J. Bauer, and made in New York, Probably late 19th century. What is nice with this flute, is that it is in very good tuning and being a medium holed Pratten design, has a nice honk.

My new Old flute!

Post by fyffer »

My turn to boast about my new flute! I just bought it from Chiffer monkey587, and it's a beauty! It's a Huller (?)
Here's the full pr*n shot:

Now, some closeups of the sections:

And now let's see if anyone can figure out who made these, and which one(s):

Now, I have to figure out how to play the darn thing -- it's my first keyed flute, and I have some bad habits I have to break. Wish me luck!!
