the "harsh" stuff has been cut, and contained direct comparisons of myself with diseased baboons and said that it would take me seven years to get as far up the ladder as "suck", amongst other things

what you cited is actually constructive

Hi Antaine!

I can see the good intention in your post but even though the rebuilt set sounded like a dream I quite don’t get it.
Antaine wrote:One of the things that discourages prospective uilleann pipers from picking up the instrument is the lack of an inexpensive and reliable full set without a years-long wait list.
I agree that cost is an issue even though I think other aspects are far more important. The thing I don’t get is, that if cost is an issue, why a prospective uilleann piper should be recommended to start on a full set?
Getting a practice set would reduce the cost a factor 4 compared to the rebuilt set.

Edit:
I missed that this was already brought up.
Maybe it just drowned the first time around as I didn’t see it, sorry.

Well, if one puts the time in, I don't really think it takes that long to "suck" at anything. Hey, maybe if I played guitar more, I would suck even more! What a game plan! Maybe I should release a lesson book "Seven Years to Becoming a Sucky Player". Then release a volume 2: (crud, I can't think of a punchy title)

Yeah, that headlamp on the front is real cool, but do they really extract the critters out from your mattress like the salesman so painstakingly demonstrated - couldn't get rid of him. I wish I could have extracted him out of my house with a monster Kirby :D

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

As ever, not sure what the import of that is, but thanks all the same. I'll remind Royce that it's MY band next time.

playing the original clip

Post by bensdad »

I can't get RealPlayer or Windows MediaPlayer to play the original clip; says it may contain corrupt material. Has the clip been changed /is it still available?

very much deleted. I didn't see much sense taking up half my allotted space for an embarassing clip of me putzing around on untuned pipes.

it be dead and gone.
