You know, I was phrasing a Montalbanian remark myself, but let it go. Meanwhile, here's a true story from the archives:

RM was on the Johnny Carson show some years ago and was taking some good-natured ribbing from Johnny about the leather, responding only with his "o-ho-ho-ho-ho" laugh. When the laffs died down, Johnny said something like, "But seriously, Ricardo, is there anything special about that Corinthian leather?"

Says RM, "Eh...eh...eh....no."

Hey Loren, did you ever get sorted with this?

Currently on eBay - might be just the thing?

You can get the cases Jem the Flute linked to from the early music shop in the uk. Look under recorder cases - they do a "long" 3 slot one which fits a casey burns two piece folk flute main body section no problem. (that being the longest single flute section that I own...)

That looks similar to my pro tech flute case- pic here at musician's friend.com

mine's blue and the insides were moved around a bit to fit but I've had it going on 8 yrs without a hitch. I put whistles and stuff in the little pocket.
edit: forgot to say, its not got any Corintian Leather.. 8)
