This isn't exactly Youtube, but for those of you with 90 minutes to spare for watching flute and whistle playing, most of the Séan Ó Ríada Gold Medal Competition can be viewed online at

'Tis a bit like listening to the Wooden Flute Obsession but with younger players and lower sound quality. As I am only one of the 15 players present, I believe I am free to say there's some mighty stuff going on there anyway, at least where the other 14 are concerned. ;) (Truth be said, not too ashamed of my own performance either, but am absolutely blown away by the musical variety presented here!)

Here are some tunes you might now well. These tunes are played by my flute teacher Diarmuid Johnson.
I know the cajon....... :really: , but the flute plays one of the most beautiful version of these 'standard tunes' I've heard.
