Damian Thompson Student Flute Review

Post by bigsciota »

Just got in a Damian Thompson "Student Model" flute, it's his 2-piece Rudall model in delrin that's a sort of stripped-down, affordable model for beginners and such. He also makes different bodies (Eb/D/C), and I got both the D and Eb. They use the same head, and it's a nice little package to carry around with you, easy to swap between D and Eb flutes if you're at a festival or something like that. Have been loving it so far, and recorded a short video just to give some impressions and play it a bit for anyone considering getting one of their own:

Damian was very nice to work with, all in all the process took about 2 months from order to receipt, and his prices are IMO quite reasonable for what you get. Highly recommended if you happen to be in the market!

I bought that model when he first introduced it, mine with offset holes, it has a great tone.
