Braveheart soundtrack sheet music

Post by marquard »

I am interested in playing the music from the Braveheart soundtrack written for the Uilleann pipes. How do I find that music to purchase? I have done some searching on the internet, but the books are written for other instruments. I do not have the musical background to know what to order. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Paul

It's not hard, just learn it by ear.

I always found it funny that a Scottish movie would have O Sullivan's March playing in the background.

Which song was O'Sullivan's March? It is not listed that way on the CD track list.

Wasn't O'Sullivan's in Rob Roy? I don't seem to recall it on Braveheart.

If you want to find sheet music for soundtracks...try Schmidt Music. Although, what is written in musical notation, doesn't often follow what is played on the recording. You might be better off learning it by ear.

I saw the opening credits of Braveheart (on Channel 7) and was extreamly surprised to hear a set of Uillean Pipes playing a very slow air. The pipers was extreamly good. Who was the piper by the way, and what tune was it?

The piper was Eric Rigler. He's been on heaps of soundtracks including Titanic.
He's also performed on movie soundtracks on the Highland pipes.

I also found it funny that the movie shows a GHB piper at Will's dads funeral early on in the movie, when quite clearly the sound is from a set of UP's :-? :-? :-?
Any way the track 'Braveheart Trilpogy' played by Eric Rigler is on his album called The Celtic pipes & Strings (Music from Caledonia). try http://www.scotmusic.co.uk I think tht's the site but the writing's so small I cna read it. But that's the Scots for you
