Michael Dow blackwood A Scottish Small Pipes. Bought in '98, used a couple times - they've been in storage since. These are some of the best smallpipes you can buy. They're now a collectors item and are hard to find since Michael has stopped making them.
I haven't touched them since '98, looking at them now, it looks like michigan weather has cracked the decorative rings (photos included). I used the bellows that came with these pipes for a few years on my Uilleann Pipes (for those who don't know, Dow has always made the best bellows), and they show some normal wear and tear - they're still airtight and work wonderfully. The brass connector came loose and has been epoxied to the bellows (photo included). The connecting hose has gone missing, it will need to be replaced.
These pipes will need to be reeded and touched up to be back in the condition they should always be in. I don't deserve them, and hope they find some one who will treat them and play them with the inspiration and mastery they were built with.
