Flageolet or Tin whistle - which is the proper name?

Just wondering. I was on http://www.hobgoblin.com and they have the metal and ABS whistles listed as Tin Whistles and the wooden ones listed as Flageolets. Is the material the only facter in diferentiating the two? or is there some other difference between them?
Just a little jeopardy question for everyone :smile:

Technically speaking, a tin whistle is a type of flageolet, a group of instruments which also includes the *ahem* recorder...

The flageolette proper has a pipe you blow in at the top.

Alba makes a tinwhistle version of the flageolette:

i have heard of recorders made of ahorn, but not of "ahem".
