My new Gaita Galega (Galician Pipes) made by SansLuthier. They are Boxwood in the key of D with black plastic mounts. Drones are Bass (2 octaves below keynote), Tenor (one octave below), and Alto (a fifth above keynote).

Pitrie, what is a Miranda Pipe? If my Gaita is one I don't know. It is a very nice instrument and the price was definantly right.

If anyone is looking for a Gaita there is a place in Chicago which carries sets by SansLuthier and Anton Varela. The place is called Andy's Music and yes I purchased my Gaita from them. In fact they have some Gaitas on ebay if anybody is interested, I thought I would pass on that they are a reliable place to buy from and probably the only place with real Gaitas (none of those Pakistani POSs) in the US.

Here's a spare practice set I own.

The chanter, by Chris Dixon, is in rosewood. The bag and bellows are by Kevin Thompson. I recently replaced the gusset on the bellows and added a brass hinge and elbow pad (both purchased from CJ Dixon).

And finally, the bag cover, in black velvet, and the cover for the blow-pipe, was sewn by my wife!!

the name miranda is on the chanter and on the reeds.
my gaita is not the same than yours.
i have no stopkeys and only two bourduns.

Mine have no markings on the Chanter, and on the reeds they are marked "Re" as that is the key. The small drone (chillon in Galizian or ronqueta in Sanish) is really just a pain as it is really powerful and nearly impossible to keep steady. The stop keys are on the Ronquillo (Tenor) and Chillon (Alto), but not on the Ronco (Bass).

Actually, I just had a look on the Drone reeds and it looks like they could have once had Miranda written on them but it is kind of faded.

Lorenzo, I was wondering why there was a Gaita Galega player I hadn't heard of. Then I took a closer look at the picture and noticed the tenor drone over the shoulder which indicated that he plays the Gaita Asturiana. Should be a nice concert though.
