FS: B and C Chanters

Post by jimharrison »

I am (regretfully) having to sell a couple of flat pitch chanters, so please PM or email me for further details / photos on :

1) Nick Adams B chanter (keyless, rosewood and brass). Re-reeded by Bill Haneman, it is bright and quite loud for a B. We did have some problems with the C#, which is rather flat - otherwise it is well in tune. More tweaking is evidently required but beyond my capacity! I am looking for offers around £800.

2) Alan Ginsberg C chanter (4 keys, boxwood and brass). An unusual one - it has a tenor 'side' drone made by Eugene Lambe which comes out of the top of the windcap and has a little bone? plug to close it off, a la Northumbrians. I had a replacement cap with a goose neck made so that the chanter can be played on its own. Offers around £700.

Sorry about that  - hope these help. I haven't got any sound files at present, but I will try and record a scale or two later, which I can email to anyone interested.

Thanks!

That Ginsberg C chanter looks really spiffy with that tenor addad. It's a real work of art!

As Donald says, the Ginsberg is sold, and I hope will be very happy in its new hemisphere.

The Adams B is still available, and I am open to sensible offers :)
