There are def. a few more!
Give a man a wooden reed and he'll play in the driest of weather,
Teach a man to make a wooden reed,
and the both of ye will go insane!

Eugene Lambe has a Galway Hooker
+

He built a boat and sailed the world but it isn't a hooker. A couple of years ago he said he was thinking of selling it, not sure he did.

There were a few stories of musicians and sailing boat floating around. Not for me to tell them though.
My brain hurts

Mandolin and gardening. I'm the compost specialist in our house and have a tip for all gardeners who use the magic yellow liquid:- before adding to the compost give it a really good shake in a bottle, until it fizzes - seems to help things along.

I don't know how you guys do it. Beyond work, family and an occasional band practice, I barely have time to fit in an hour with the pipes a week. No time for other pursuits.

Yea, uilleann piping and kids killed all my other hobbies, for the most part. No complaints, though!

My current "other" hobby is building wooden boats. I also compete in triathlons, and play the odd big band gig on saxophone.
Current boat due for completion in February (Penobscot 14):

In addition to music, horseback riding (dressage mainly), rock climbing and mountaineering, skiing.

Trying to achieve mediocrity at all of it.

I almost forgot, I've been fishing for as long as I can remember . Mostly sea fishing although I did start fishing for trout in my local river when I was a kid. Now I mostly fishing for Bass around Inch beach but I have decided this year that I want to catch a Salmon so I'm going to fish the river Laune for that purpose.

I have had many hobbies: archery, fencing, lacrosse, cycling (a big one for years), gardening, piping, art making (paintings and art quilts), and most recently researching and learning about the art of pipemaking (fledgling, pre-hatched). However, my true passions are being an artist and piping and so those are now my main focuses and true joys. I would like to achieve mastery in these versus a "jack of all trades". To see some of my artwork visit:

http://www.fitzgeraldfinearts.net

and look under oil paintings and art quilts.

I would like to post a pic of the bellows, chanter, and other practice set components I made but I don't know how to attach images on here.

Daveboling - awesome boat!

Pipe making, rock climbing, back country skiing and snowboarding, mtn biking, cooking, gardening, kinetic sculpture, art cars, and.....building large-scale burnable art for Burning Man! The Utah CORE project for 2012 - The Secret of the Bees! It was a lot of work, but we pulled it off in good form thanks to the hard work of an awesome crew. I particular liked playing the pipes (B set of course) up in the head of the bee, people would be drawn to the sound and climb up to investigate. Note the glowing nipples, a detail created by yours truly!
