What, you egg?

Post by djm »

I'm not sure who here cares, but the BBC has finally released the first season of Hamish MacBeth on DVD. I got mine through Amazon.com. It only includes 5 of the 6 episodes. No explanation why. So what?

Which episode is missing, is it the pilot?

I loved Hamish McB, particularly before Robert Carlyle became famous.
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that schwing

There is no indication that any episode was the pilot. The packaging says the missing episode is #4, "West Coast Story". No explanation as to why its not there. I've written BBC to ask, but don't seriously expect any response from them. I remember this one, where they put on West Side Story in the local community centre.

I love the sort of soft humour in this series, where there's no-one beating you over the head to tell you, "This is a joke", or a pre-recorded laugh track to tell you when you're supposed to laugh.
